1. What are wax seals used on?
Our clients come up with amazing uses everyday. Depends if you purchase the peel and stick wax seal stickers or the wax seal stamper with sealing wax. 2. Can you use my art?
Yes, that is our specialty. Send us good clean camera ready art by email and normally within 1-3 business days your seals are ready. We need art in a vector format and we work on MAC and PC computers.
3. What is the difference between your wax and the old style wax I know about?
We carry both types of wax. Our faux wax is a petroleum based product that looks and feels like genuine wax but it will not crack or break like traditional wax. Our material is safe to mail inside an envelope and is slightly flexible. This can be used also to protect closures and security tampering. The traditional wax is brittle and will crack and break with pressure however looks amazing if you can use it on the inside of envelopes or custom packaging.
4. How easy is it to make the seals?
To make your own seals just warm up your glue gun, you will have to flush out the old glue that is in it by running about 1 1/2 of our colored sticks through the gun. To ensure the die does not stick to the faux wax just chill the die. We use a 99 cent ice pack, just rest the stamper on the ice pack until the die feels cold. Pour a circle of wax with the glue gun and gently center and place the stamper into the puddle of wax. It takes about 1 minute for the wax to chill and harden, then gentle pull the die from the wax and you are done. Using an open flame on the round faux wax sticks meant for the glue guns, will end up damaging the product.
5. How many seals can I make with each stick?
Our sticks are 7/16″ round x 4″ long and will make anywhere from 7 to 10 1″ round seals.
6. Can I mail the seals or will they break?
Our seals are safe to mail inside of an envelope. Please note that when on the outside they may add to your post cost. In USA and Canada, postal service measures the thickness of envelopes, depending on what is already in the envelope may put you over the normal thickness. You can drop into any post office and they will have a measuring tool and check for you.
7. How fast do you deliver?
Normal production time for us is 1-2 business days. If you are sending us a custom design it may take longer if we have to re-touch or re-draw your artwork. If your art is in a vector format for a PC or MAC we will be right on track for our normal quick production.
8. How long will it take me to make 100 seals?
Approximately 1.5 hours. Depending on the size of the seal, it takes about 30-60+ seconds per seal with pouring, cooling the wax and re-cooling the die for the next seal. This is why we created www.waxseals.com and use automatic machinery for those of you that don’t want to spend the time doing this yourself.
9. How much will shipping cost?
Shipping costs will depend on where you are located. We ship from Victoria BC, Canada. 1 stamper and ten sticks packed in a small box weigh 236 grams.
10. Do you offer rush service?
We are so fast that there should be no need for rush service. We will always do whatever we can to ensure you get your orders as fast as you need and would never apply any extra costs.
11. What countries will you ship to?
We will ship to anywhere on the planet.
12. I don’t like to use my credit card on the internet. Can I still place an order with you?
Yes of course! We accept mail order, phone and fax orders. We prefer that you call or email in your order as there are so many variables regarding size, art and wax colors etc. Our toll free number is 1-800-317-7270.
13. Do you wholesale?
Yes, we will wholesale our products to stationery dealers and retailers. You must have an online or storefront presence and promote our line. One time wholesale orders are not available. Please email for pricing. Retail packaging is also available.
14. Will you drop ship for us directly to our clients?
Of course!
15. Product returns?
As we are creating custom engraved products we do not accept returns.
16. Shipping options?
We prefer to ship orders by FedEx, if you choose the postal service with no signature option we cannot guarantee delivery time or even guarantee that the product will arrive.
